Apple allows an app (application) that aims to cure homosexuals of their evil and godless sin. Called Exodus International and created by a Christian group called by the same name, it is nice to think that at least Christian bigots are sufficiently up-to-date to spread their hatred and prejudice to new technologies. What’s next, lasers fired at sinners from the Vatican? And all this from a religion that professes that god is love and that Jesus died for all of us and that the greatest commandment of all is to love your neighbour…(as long as or she is not a raving woofter) – Christian’s parentheses not mine! Exodus International claims that their free speech rights were violated, well not when you have hundreds of thousands of people signing petitions to remove the app. the same thing goes for gay marriage, it should be a human right, but it was voted down in California. I am gay, but at least the system is working. democracy worked for and against me. but im still happy to be gay

@victimlesscriminal first off,id just like to say that your voice commands attention and it is soooo badass. second, “when will there be an app that will cure christianity?” this is poetry. someone should put that kind of app out there and watch the Christians squirm. thank you.

@ABAisSCIENCE sez: “For evidence….funny how the fishermen who learned from Him [Jesus] could write such great gospels after His death.”

Er…by “the fishermen” I assume you are talking about his disciples? Nope. Most were illiterate, and anyway, they did not write “the gospels”. Those were finally written in Greek, from oral legends, no sooner than around 50 years after the death of christ. – See: Wikipedia, “Gospel”

At least learn your hocus-pocus correctly. ;-)

@dapcduck22 Have you heard of a whited sepulchre? It’s from the Bible. What they are is tombs that a white-washed and clean on the outside but rank with rotting flesh and filth on the inside. See where I am going with that one?

I think this app was hilarious, but after reading the discription I started to get pissed off because of all the Jesus-crap.
Could’ve been a funny joke, but in the end it was just stupid Americans who feel desperate to throw Bibles at everyones personality and beliefs.

@nannabeany I don’t care what school of psychology you graduate from – teaching kids round pegs fit in square holes is ‘okay’ is sad. It becomes acceptable when society deems it acceptable I guess.

  16. SierraBravoOneNiner on the 09. May, 2011 remarked #

YEA! Apple have removed this App.

  17. nannabeany on the 09. May, 2011 remarked #

@ar94952 Actually, that finding was not replicated in a later study. And the study associated w/ (about certain masculine lesbians having a longer fourth ring finger) turned out to be more influenced by ethnic group. In almost every case, studies linking genes or hormones to complex behavior have not been replicated. Biology interacts with environment, personality, & other conditions. It’s also likely that different types of homosexuality w/ different patterns of etiology, may be discovered.

@victimlesscriminal You can’t stop everyone from reproducing sexual human beings. We are all sexual in different spectrum. If you try to remove the gay gene, it is just as unethical as removing unattractive racial traits.
A man is a man, you can’t stop him from humping anything if he’s in heat.

  19. ar94952 on the 09. May, 2011 remarked #

@nannabeany Slight correction on this. Genetic is one of the major factor of producing a homosexual offspring. The second thing that has a lot of impact towards the fetus’ future sexual orientation is the mother’s hormonal levels and the health of her uterine walls. Both genetics and hormone levels influence the outcome, according to my recent sexual psychology studies.

What???? An I-phone app to cure homosexuality? I believe it was P.T. Barnum that said “there’s a sucker born every minute”.

Since when is #gay a disease? Regardless the CURE for ALL our “sins” is #LOVE…YET we all don’t exhibit it we judge & FEAR things that are not like “us” or “normal”…what was “normal” before normal existed ~ When u say your normal u may as well say ur a follower to trends…

  22. nannabeany on the 09. May, 2011 remarked #

@GeertWildersLoyalist Well, religion is the cause of most of the insanity in the world. I agree there should be an app to cure pedophila instead. However, I’m not quite sure this app was targeted towards gay people in general the way they present it in the media.. it’s probably for people unhappy w/ themselves (married ppl, confused, etc). Unfortunately religious nuts are the only ones they can turn to because of political ploys aimed at reducing homophobia by condemning therapists.

  23. ABAisSCIENCE on the 09. May, 2011 remarked #

@obsleet, ABAisSCIENCE means applied behavior analysis is science. If parents use ABA to teach their child how to talk, I approve. If a child learns to sit in a first grade classroom by scientific principles by a teacher unaware of them, I approve. These principles work whether one knows them or not. Science works at describing how people learn. It also works when a homosexual determines to direct themselves with an Apple app to change their behaviors. Behaviors change by scientific principles.

  24. marliz012 on the 09. May, 2011 remarked #

@chrismarcinko I don’t think it was unconstitutional to pull the app, they put it out there…people petitioned…as it was within their rights…apple didn’t want the bad publicity so they pulled it. No violation of rights here.

  25. GeertWildersLoyalist on the 09. May, 2011 remarked #

@nannabeany A few years ago in Dubai, there was a case of a gay party being raided by the police. The partygoers were extracted and forced to have “chemical therapy” as a “correction”. Yes people should be free to explore their own issues but the app in question serves to support the incident in Dubai. It’s terrible to see the heterosexual community forcing their way of life on others. I think the church should send out an app on how to cure paedophilia, now that would be more fitting ;-)
